What is WTT?

World Table Tennis is a platform created by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) to bring the sport into the modern age. Until now, table tennis had no official mobile app for fans. WTT changed that. This app became the sport’s first real digital home.

The Story

The project began in 2021 with a clear goal, make table tennis as exciting to follow as any top-tier sport.

The app was meant to bring together fans, players, and tournaments on one platform. As part of the Pumpjack team, I worked on bringing this experience to life over the course of three years.

What I Did

Designed a mobile experience that gives fans access to live scores, highlights, player stats, and ticketing

Created wireframes, prototypes, and final visual designs for both iOS and Android using Apple HIG and Material Design

Contributed to frontend development to bring those designs to production

Worked closely with developers and product leads to launch on time and scale with feedback

Key Features

Live Match Experience

Fans could follow matches in real time, watch live streams, and check scores from anywhere in the world.

Ticketing Made Easy

Integrated seat selection and purchase for global WTT events. Hassle-free access for fans attending matches.

Player Profiles

Follow favourite players, view their latest matches, and see upcoming tournaments and stats in one place.

Match Highlights and Recaps

Curated videos and summaries helped fans catch up quickly without watching entire games.

News and Content

Exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and official updates kept fans engaged between tournaments.

Outcome

The WTT app launched on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. It marked the first step in digitizing a sport loved by millions but often overlooked.

With consistent updates and feedback loops, the app grew into a reliable companion for fans, giving table tennis the modern platform it long deserved.
