About the Project

Inter Miami CF is a Major League Soccer team based in Miami, co-owned by David Beckham. The club had a bold identity and a growing global audience. They needed an app that did more than just show scores. It had to reflect the energy of the team and the culture of the city.

We designed the official mobile app to help fans follow matches, stream games, buy merch, and feel connected to the club whether they were in the stadium or across the world.

What I Did

Inter Miami CF is a Major League Soccer team based in Miami, co-owned by David Beckham. The club had a bold identity and a growing global audience. They needed an app that did more than just show scores. It had to reflect the energy of the team and the culture of the city.

How It Started

The project began before the team even played its first match. In our early meetings, the main question wasn’t “What should the app do?” It was “What should it feel like?” The goal was to build something fans could live in not just visit once in a while. That idea guided everything we designed.

Key Features

1. Live Match Streaming

Fans could stream games live, directly in the app. At the time, this was a first for any MLS team.

2. Infinite Feed

We built a feed that blended news, match updates, and content into one scrollable timeline. No switching views. Just one place to stay updated.

3. Merch Lookbook

Instead of a basic store, we designed a lookbook inspired by fashion drops. Fans could browse collections through high-quality photos, not just product lists.

4. Supporter Club Map

We made it easy for fans to find or create supporter clubs near them. It helped grow the community and gave fans more ways to connect.

5. Custom Fan Profiles

Fans could customize their profiles with team jerseys and flags that reflected their background or favorite national teams. A small detail that made a big difference.

Outcome

The app launched in early 2020 and became a key part of the fan experience, especially during COVID. It showed what was possible when design focused on people.

The streaming feature opened new doors. A few years later, MLS signed a major deal with Apple, and Inter Miami signed Messi. The app didn’t make that happen, but it helped show what was possible and that still feels special.
