Degree 37

Degree 37 is a platform built to support blood centers. It connects different teams donor outreach, campaign management, resource planning, call centers, and more into one system.

The goal was to help them work better together and make it easier for people to donate blood.

I joined when the product was already mid-build. The design team was behind schedule and struggling to keep up with the sprint cycles. I was brought in to work directly with product managers and design the remaining modules so the team could catch up.

My first task was to understand how all the pieces fit together, how donors moved through the system, how teams operated, and how the platform was used across different touchpoints.

Mapped out workflows across multiple user types from blood donors to call center agents to campaign teams

Designed missing modules like the call center interface, campaign planning, and donor resource tools

Improved usability by simplifying layouts, clarifying actions, and reducing cognitive load

Worked inside an existing design system, extending it with new components when needed

Collaborated closely with devs and PMs to make sure everything shipped clean and on time

I used the team’s existing design system as the base for all new work. When the platform needed patterns that didn’t exist, I designed new components and documented their usage so the system stayed consistent across teams. This helped speed up development and made collaboration between designers and developers much smoother.

We were able to catch up to the sprint backlog and ship the remaining modules without delays. The redesigned tools helped teams work faster, made the platform easier to use, and supported better coordination across blood centers.
