2020 - 2023

About the Project

The Dallas Mavericks are one of the most recognized teams in the NBA. They wanted a mobile app that helped fans stay connected no matter where they were. From buying tickets and tracking live scores to exploring exclusive content, the app needed to bring the game closer to the fans and make gameday better.

What I Did

I worked as a product designer on this project from 2020 to 2023. I collaborated with developers, product leads, and stakeholders to shape the app’s UX and visual direction. My work included user research, wireframes, UI design, and helping with implementation.

How It Started

We kicked off this project with one big question: how do we make fans feel like they are part of the game, even when they are not in the arena? The Mavs team already had a strong brand and loyal fanbase. Our goal was to create a mobile experience that matched that energy and made everyday moments feel more connected to the team.

Key Features

1. Ticketing

Fans could buy, sell, or transfer tickets through their Ticketmaster account. We added 360º seat previews and made the checkout process fast and simple.

2. Gameday Tools

We designed tools that added value inside the arena, like mobile check-in, live stats, Mavs Arcade, and food ordering.

3. Player Profiles

Fans could follow their favourite players and get access to interviews, highlights, and match notifications.

4. Live Streaming and Radio

During the pandemic, streaming became essential. Fans could watch or listen to games live from anywhere.

5. News and Content

We built a space for breaking news, behind-the-scenes clips, and exclusive content from the team.

6. Merchandise Store

The app connected directly to the Mavs store so fans could browse and shop official gear on the go.

Outcome

The Mavericks app launched on both iOS and Android and quickly became a key part of the team’s digital strategy. It made the fan experience smoother, smarter, and more fun. We kept improving the app with feedback from real users, making sure it stayed useful all season long.
