Introduction

House of Co is a European-based company specializing in creating beautifully designed co-living spaces. Their website serves as the cornerstone of their online presence, showcasing their vision, mission, and values. This case study details how we redesigned their website to improve user experience, boost online engagement, and effectively communicate their brand values.

My Role

As the solo web designer for this project, I collaborated closely with the House of Co team to gather requirements and define the project scope. My responsibilities included designing the website layout, creating wireframes and prototypes, and the visual design process. I also worked alongside the development team to ensure that the design was implemented accurately and aligned with the project goals.

Background

Before the redesign, House of Co's website struggled to effectively communicate their brand values or highlight their co-living spaces. The user experience was confusing, and visitors had difficulty understanding the benefits of co-living and the unique features of House of Co's offerings. The website lacked clear calls to action, leading to low engagement rates and missed opportunities for online reservations.

Design Process

Discovery Phase: Conducted stakeholder interviews and user research to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
Wireframes and Prototypes: Developed wireframes and prototypes to test assumptions and gather feedback from stakeholders and users.
Visual Design: Focused on showcasing the benefits of co-living and the unique features of House of Co's spaces.

Logo Design

The House of Co logo embodies the essence of co-living by visually representing the individual within a community. The design uses the letters "C" and "O" to form a house, symbolizing a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals thrive together.

Colors and Mood Board

The color palette was carefully selected to reflect the warmth and comfort of co-living spaces. Earthy tones combined with soft pastels evoke a sense of tranquility and community, while the mood board encapsulates the brand's inviting and harmonious atmosphere.

Typography

The typography was chosen to be clean, modern, and easy to read, aligning with the brand’s commitment to simplicity and elegance. The font styles complement the overall design, reinforcing the brand's professional yet approachable identity.

Icon Design

Custom-designed icons were created to visually communicate key aspects of the House of Co brand. These icons are simple yet expressive, enhancing user navigation and contributing to a cohesive visual language across the website.

Final Brand Look

The final brand look brings together all design elements into a unified visual identity. The combination of the logo, color palette, typography, and icons creates a consistent and memorable brand experience that resonates with House of Co’s target audience

Social Media and Business Card

The social media designs and business cards extend the brand’s visual identity across different platforms, ensuring consistency. These materials were designed to be visually appealing and to reflect the brand's core values, making a lasting impression on both digital and physical touchpoints.

Final Outcome

The website redesign led to a significant increase in online engagement and reservations. The new layout and design solutions effectively communicated the benefits of co-living and showcased the unique features of House of Co's spaces.

The user-friendly reservation system streamlined the booking process, resulting in a higher conversion rate. Overall, the redesign successfully conveyed House of Co's brand values, vision, and mission, attracting more visitors to their co-living spaces.
